Martha Hamm, RN, BSN
President and CEO
|
| Martha is the founder and President of Best
Home Care, a private home health care company that
opened in February of 1999. As a manager at a VNA, she
heard from clients on a daily basis asking how to get
the health care services that they so desperately
needed, when Medicare benefits were no longer available
to pay for the type of services that they needed. Martha
knew this business and she understood that she could
provide a desperately needed service for many clients in
the community. With over 25 years of experience in
nursing, home health, and community health care, Martha
knows how the health care system works and how to access
available resources. |
|
She also understands the
anxiety and confusion that clients and family members are often
faced with when they suddenly find themselves in a situation
that requires the navigation of a complicated system.
Martha is committed to assisting clients to remain in the setting of their
choice. She is passionate about community and home health care.
She wants to give to the community by providing education and
information to the community, and to keep people safe and
healthy in the comfort of their own homes.
In 1999, Martha attended The Commonwealth Corporation for
Business, Work, and Learning Program-- an educational program
designed for new business owners. In June of 2000, she was
nominated and received the award for Entrepreneur of the Year.
She was presented with the award at the State House in Boston.
Martha is married to Barry Hamm -- Vice President of the company-- and has
a daughter, Carolyn, who is a Special Education and Elementary
school teacher for the Andover public school system and a son,
Jeff, a computer scientist currently working for DocSite,
designing and developing health care software. She loves
traveling, taking long walks, bike riding, and reading. |
